Appointments

AskMyGP

Our practice uses an online consultation system called AskMyGP.  This is the easiest and fastest way to get help.  It saves us time too, so please help us to help you by using this service. Click on the image to open AskMyGP or to sign up. Using AskMyGP will not delay our response.

All patients registered with the practice (including their parents, guardians and carers) are invited to use the service to seek health advice, consult a clinician, request an appointment, request a FIT note and much more.

AskMyGP is open 24/7.  We aim to respond on the same day if your request is submitted before 2.00pm, or the next working day if your request is submitted when we are closed. All queries are reviewed by our experienced health professionals throughout the working day.  You can specify a particular GP and your preferred method of contact – please remember to check your AskMyGP account for any email responses.  Telephone calls cannot be allotted specific times as GPs will make them when they can throughout the day.

Non-urgent advice: Please Note

Our Receptionists cannot book patients’ appointments directly.

However, if you do not have access to the internet, our staff will raise a query on your behalf via AskMyGP.

You will be asked for a brief description of your concerns and your personal details including your contact number.

The information you provide will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.

Your appointment

We will contact you to offer a consultation by phone or through AskMyGP

We will either offer you a face-to-face appointment or a telephone appointment, whichever is considered the most appropriate by the triaging GP.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

You can cancel or change your appointment by calling us on 01522 730269, Option 1.

If you need help when we are closed

If you are experiencing chest pains, shortness of breath or your condition warrants an emergency response, please dial 999 for the Emergency Services.

If you require medical services when the Practice is closed you should access NHS 111 online or via the telephone. 111 is a Freephone number from both landlines and mobile telephones. This service is for any urgent but non-life-threatening health concerns. You will be put through to the relevant service for appropriate advice, or booked into an Urgent Treatment Centre.  The nearest Urgent Treatment Centres to the Practice are based at Lincoln County Hospital and John Coupland Hospital in Gainsborough.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Extended Hours Services

This service is part of an extended access offer which has been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group being delivered by a federation of GP practices in our area. If a patient wishes to attend an extended hours appointment, they may need to travel to another local GP practice, and may therefore not necessarily see their own GP.

Extended hours appointments are for pre-bookable non-urgent matters such as chronic illness and medication reviews and are available depending on patients’ requirements.  To arrange an appointment, please speak to Reception.

Home visits

Home Visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. A Home Visit may be arranged, if necessary, as a follow up to a hospital attendance.

Please make every effort to attend the surgery as there are better facilities for examination and treatment at the practice.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.

Wasted Appointments

We would ask that you use our services responsibly. Please notify the practice in good time if you are no longer able to keep your appointment. Our Reception staff will cancel or re-arrange the appointment to a time convenient for you. Wasted appointments could have been offered to other patients in need and would contribute to a more effective use of the service for all. A more efficient service will in turn decrease waiting times.

Follow up a referral

Did you know you can do this via the NHS App?

If however, the date stated on your referral letters has passed and you would like to speak to someone, you can contact New Appointments on 01522 573200.  Using the NHS App is likely to give you more current information as the App updates in real time.
